Residents create community pantry

The residents of Lakeview, Hartshill and Tracious Close who would normally be looking forward to their community fun day have set up a "Community Pantry" with members of the local Salvation Army.

People have been donating store cupboard items, toys and books to be picked up for free on a table outside one block of flats for residents to come and help themselves in times of need.

One resident in particular has also been making the most of the produce from the fruit trees planted by NVH on the green outside Hartshill and has made some lovely homemade apple chutney and damson jam for everyone to share.

If you have a green space near you that you think could use the addition of fruit trees or a wildflower meadow, please let us know using the community chest.
