Too much food is still going to waste in Surrey. The latest research shows that a staggering 58% of food waste ends up in rubbish bins instead of being recycled. That’s 28,000 tonnes each year - the equivalent of 2,258 double decker buses.

All food waste can be recycled, so if your leftover food doesn’t make it into one of your winter warmers, then make sure you caddy it and help the environment by turning it into fertiliser or electricity.

Surrey Environment Partnership has been asking residents how they can help you to recycle more food. In response to feedback, we’ve designed a hook that allows you to attach your food caddy to the inside or outside of any kitchen cupboard – freeing up your counter space.

Now, we want your help. Make a difference and participate in our hook trial – take the food caddy hook for a spin and tell us what you think. Interested? Give us your details here and we will be in touch.
